in Gen George Armstrong Custer 1876

George Armstrong was a United States Army officer and cavalry commander in the American Civil War and the Indian Wars. In 1874, Custer led an expedition into the Black Hills of South Dakota and announced the discovery of gold. This triggered the Black Hills Gold Rush and fighting against a coalition of Native American tribes of the Lakota Sioux and the Cheyenne. Custer and all his men were killed at the Battle of  Little Bighorn, Montana, known in American history as "Custer's Last Stand."
