Duke and Duchess
While searching for pictures that described the act of relating, I came upon the portraits of the famous duo, the Duke and Duchess of Urbino (Federico di Montefeltro and Battista Sforza) by Piero Della Francesca. The paintings are icons for a most celebrated time in Italian art history. I wanted to pull out the human relationship behind this couple, left staring at each other for five hundred years, and imagine their urge to communicate.
